How I strengthened customer relationships for one of Poland's leading window manufacturers

I've managed to create a 0-1 product for one of the leaders in Poland's roof window market. The project involved a mobile application built with Flutter and a web panel for content management developed using MUI. The client's goal was to strengthen relationships with the roofers they work with, keep them informed about company news and events, and unify their current marketing efforts.

Problems

  1. Dispersed Information Across Platforms.

  2. Ineffective Engagement with Roofing Partners.

  3. Lack of Metrics on Partner Engagement.

Solutions

  1. Consolidated all key resources — news updates, event invitations, loyalty program, installation instructions, and distributor maps—into a single mobile application. Retention rate improved by 70% compared to the client’s previous fragmented solutions.

  2. Introduced a gamified reward system through QR code scanning, encouraging roofers to actively participate in promotions and track their progress.

  3. Integrated analytics to track app usage, feature engagement, and reward program participation, giving the client valuable insights into user behavior.

Challenges & Approach

Initial Ideas: The client had many ideas at the start, which we refined during workshops with business, development, and design teams.

  • Roadmap: We outlined the features for the application and created the roadmap for the product.

  • Accessibility: Additionally, I ensured that all designs met accessibility standards, adhering to WCAG guidelines for contrast and readability, to provide an inclusive experience for all users.

  • EVP Creation: The aim was to create an EVP (Exceptional Viable Product) that we would gradually enhance.

  • Launch Plans: The app is set to launch in Q1 2025 in another country, with around 800 users already on board just three months after launch.

  • Target Audience: This app is specifically designed for companies collaborating with our client, not for everyone.

  • All in one: Initially, information was scattered across various platforms, making it difficult for less tech-savvy customers. Now, everything is consolidated within one application—news updates, event invitations, installation instructions, and a map of distributors.

  • QR Code Scanning: The QR code scanning feature strengthens ties between the company and its workers. Each purchased product includes a QR code that rewards points to the owner, redeemable at the end of the season.

  • Testing Issues: During closed testing, employees mistakenly scanned barcodes instead of QR codes. We solved this by adding an informational label in the QR scanner and updating packaging to align with branding changes.

  • Web Panel Design: Instead of cluttering one location with buttons for various actions, we created a handy menu for easy data access within the app. This simplifies usage and data management on the panel.

  • Scalability Focus: With future changes in mind, special attention was given to creating a scalable and manageable project through components and variables. This approach ensures that any stylistic updates can be easily applied across all products—such as websites and social media—planned for next year. Additionally, I provided straightforward documentation to support ongoing development.

Results

The outcome? A mobile application and web panel that bring everything together. Communication between the company and its collaborators is now seamless. Users have all they need in one place—no more searching through multiple platforms. Satisfaction is up, loyalty is stronger, and the loyalty program is driving more purchases. This project has set a solid foundation for ongoing collaboration and future growth.

Conclusion

Need a cohesive solution that adapts to changing needs? No worries. I transformed scattered ideas into a well-structured mobile application and web panel designed with components and variables at their core. The web panel was built using MUI, while the mobile app utilized an internal component library. This design approach not only streamlines current operations but also prepares the project for future stylistic changes across all products—ensuring consistency across websites and social media next year. With everything organized clearly in simple documentation, we’re ready for whatever comes next while maintaining flexibility and scalability throughout the process.
